Knowing a shared history and culture connects people. The past shapes the future, and the lessons from that past—whether yesterday or centuries ago—must be preserved. That's why we work every day to make art and heritage visible in the present and preserve it for generations to come.
Art Conservation specialises in conservation, research and restoration. We provide specialised primary care to, among others, museums, galleries, art dealers, antique dealers and collectors, governments, art market professionals, heritage institutions, archives, libraries and private individuals. We conduct a variety of research, write condition reports and offer tailor-made advice.
Conservation and restoration of archaeological material. We cover freshly excavated finds, objects stored in heritage institutions, metal, pottery, stone, glass and organic material from all periods.
Conservation and restoration of various ceramic materials such as faience, majolica, terracotta, porcelain, archaeological ceramics, tiles, building ceramics, but also related materials such as glass and mosaics.
Conservation and restoration of modern and contemporary art ranging from plastics, food art, kinetic art, outdoor sculptures, conceptual art to mixed-media installations.
Conservation and restoration of paintings from classical to modern painting. We treat paintings on various carriers: from canvas and panel to copper.
Conservation and restoration of museum objects and the treatment of, among other things, archives, manuscripts, parchment, prints, posters, gouaches and comic books.
Conservation and restoration of sculptures in indoor and outdoor spaces. We handle traditional materials such as (natural) stone, bronze or wood, as well as modern works of art such as plastic, polyester, wax, paper, expanded polystyrene.
Conservation and restoration of wooden objects with or without polychromy. Wood is used in art objects such as furniture, interior parts, sculptures ..., which are often painted multicoloured. We treat such sculptures and ornaments so that they are in good condition again.
Art Salvage BE carried out annual maintenance and condition reporting of art in public space on behalf of Beaufort. They organize an art project every three years along the Belgian coast.
